travels

I have walked the earth and touched no one
left no footprints
no memories

Have i lived the way of the budda
is this gods way

like soft wind
that sometimes blows hard
but leaves no mark
and is forgotten

I have struggled to leave footprints
only to see thay are in sand
on a beach at low tide
can this still be memories

have i ever had a path
be seen and not heard
you can do anything she says, mom can i,
no,

respect your elders
but who are they, the elders
i have looked, but found no elders
only people just like me
with holes in their spirit
only in different places

rant on prisons and education, health care in America

A nation of prisons, that is what we have become, prisons for profit. Let us not spend the money to teach our children, leaving no stone unearned in the educational race for enlightenment through exersize of of our greatest muscle, the brain. Let us inprison who we cast as bad people, therefore making us feel safe. Let us write laws to capture more bad people so we will be safer yet. Let us burden our government with keeping prisoners at a rate 8 to 10 times the amount of other 1st world nation.
Let us not have health care for all, cradle to grave. Let us be the only nation of 38 considered first worlders to not have socialized medicine. Let capitalism rule to the point of bankrupting our populaton to feed the continuing growing wealth of the rich.
I live in the community of Globe AZ. A pretty much sleepy beautiful town. There is a big push to build a private prison here. Some say it will create jobs, which are very much needed here.
I say, let us unwind the policies that have created the monster of a country where education of our children is not a priority, where health care is for everyone, and where we as a country will not lick up the very last person here, so we can feel safe
